It's the little things....and a few random pictures

Grace is trying to climb up the stairs.

Lily is helping me cook dinner. I think that I was warming up milk for corn and tomato risotto. She helps me cook dinner almost every night. Tonight she pounded out the chicken for me.

Here's Lily at her finest...throwing a tantrum. She had just spent the morning with Anna Marie and Kevin in the irrigation ditch. She was so mad that she had to come in the house, and she was even madder that she had to take a shower in the middle of the day. The bathing suit she is wearing is one of my niece, Megan's, old ones. She calls it her ditch bathing suit. I thought it was more appropriate to wear instead of running around naked along Highway 198!

We went to Lake Kaweah a few weeks ago. Lily loved riding the tube and got used to jumping off the top of the house boat again. Her friends, Ally and Jack, are riding on the tube with her.

Here's Lily, literally, 2 minutes after we pulled out of Lake Kaweah's Marina parking lot.

I haven't posted in a while, so I had some catching up to do. Every day I have to remind myself to enjoy the little things about raising two little girls. My favorites: Grace grabbing my neck and hugging me as only an 8 month old can; Lily walking in the kitchen when I am making dinner and asking, "Mom, can I help you make dinner? Where's my airprone (apron) that Nana bought me last year (Everything lately is last year or last week or yesterday. She's trying to understand time, I think.); Grace doing something new, literally, every day; giving them both a bath at night and watching them play together; putting their tired little selves to bed at night, a little sunburned and very tired from another rough day of being a kid. It doesn't get any better.
