Trip to Vegas and Elton John's concert

Yep, that's the Rocket Man at his 200th concert at the Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, and we were there! He was a little more over the top than I expected, and my expectations were high! He was an excellent performer, and we really enjoyed listening to him play the piano and sing. Charlie even wore a red feather boa during the concert (and he had his first pedicure that afternoon)! It was very nice to be alone for three days, so thanks Mom and Dad for taking Grace, and thanks Melissa, Kevin and Brooke, for taking care of Lily. We ate VERY well (gained 3 pounds!) at Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill on Saturday night before the concert and at Rosemary's Restaurant on Sunday night. If you ever get to Las Vegas, please visit Rosemary's. It's a gem off the strip. Their cuisine is French American with a twist on Southern comfort food. We sit at the Chef's food bar, which overlooks the food prep area. We chat with the chefs and watch them prepare our food. It's a true treat! And, Sunday nights they have half off all the bottled wine on their list. We enjoyed a 2004 Cabernet from Meyer Vineyards in Napa Valley.

We are looking forward to a short one nighter away next week with our friends, Mike and Darla. We're going to a BBQ cooking class at Central Coast Culinary and Catering. Mike and I are hoping to learn more about BBQing, and I think Charlie and Darla will enjoy the wine and food!

Now, a bit about the girls...Grace is currently pulling herself up on virtually everything and crawling quickly all over the house. She is also clapping. Lily received her preschool class assignment, and she'll be in the "B" class with Miss Monica and Miss Diane. We're very pleased about this. She starts in less than 2 months, which is hard for me to believe. I get a little sad when I think about her being gone 3 days a week. We'll make the adjustment, and Anna Marie will be around to play with Grace!
