We headed to the beach last Thursday because of reports of an upcoming heat wave. We pulled in our RV spot at the Newport Dunes RV Resort about 2:30 on Thursday afternoon, and Lily noticed there was a motor home next to us with a small, girl's bike parked next to it. That family pulled up 5 minutes later, and Lily and their little girl, Jolie, became fast friends. Jolie's parents are Erik and Miep, and they are from Holland. We had a great time getting to know them over the next 4 days, and the girls had so much fun playing and swimming together. Lily became quite the accomplished swimmer, so we are all ready for our vacation to Hawaii. It's coming up 3 weeks from Saturday, and we can't wait!
Here's an explanation of the above pictures from top to bottom: Grace and Lily sitting next to our trailer looking so cute; Grace laying on our bed, her favorite place in the trailer; Lily and her new friend, Jolie, swimming in the pool; Jolie and Lily, right before we left on Sunday-Lily was very sad and couldn't bring herself to smile for the photo; Jolie trying to get Lily to smile.
A few highlights from our trip: Lily going up to every kid in the pool saying, "Hi! I'm Lily. What's your name? Do you want to play?" Lily prayed in front of Jolie, Miep and Erik, hopefully planting a seed in their minds. Lily played and swam so hard that she was asleep before her head hit the pillow. And yes, we did eat some fabulous Salmon and Ahi Tuna! We also took 2 long bike rides, and our 10 mile ride took us along an eco-preserve in the middle of the city on Sunday morning.

That sounds so nice! What fun! Did Jolie speak English? What a fun coincidence. Miss you, and the beach...
