Farm Kids

"Children raised on farms learn responsibility at an early age. But they also learn to appreciate the outdoors and how to have a good time. These lessons will be with them for the rest of their lives. (They) tend to have skills and a self-esteem that most children don't have. When farm children grow up and go into the world, they're apt to do their work well, not complain about it and have the self-confidence it takes to do whatever needs to be done. Farm kids are just different." ("Farm Life", Fall, 2008)

Aren't my farm kids beautiful? We had a great time with the girls yesterday afternoon in the field behind our house. Our farmer, Ty Nunes, had just baled all the alfalfa, and Lily and Grace played on the bales and walked in the field. At one point, the cat even came to join in on the fun. There are some better pictures I chose not to publish because they'll probably be part of our Christmas card! (You can click on each image to enlarge it, if you're having a difficult time seeing it.)
