Gardening

The garden is officially planted! On Thursday we planted squash, red peppers and eggplant. Today we planted cilantro, parsley, and cucumbers. That, along with the potatoes, cantaloupe, watermelon, tomatoes, and beans we planted on Monday and Tuesday, we should be set for produce this summer. We also spread almond shell between the fruit trees, and Brooke did a lot of weeding! Here are our "helpers." They'd really rather chase the chickens and play in the dirt by the swing set than help us! They'll get to know what a weed looks like pretty quickly here.....

The girls enjoyed a picnic in the shade on Thursday afternoon. Sometimes it takes just as long to "get the kids set up" as it does to do our work.

Can we just say "pigpen!" She loved playing in the mud.

Grace is helping herself to a few cookies here, thinking that mommy was busy down the row putting in drip lines. Busted!
