Charlie, Mike and Darla and I headed out to the Central Coast on Sunday morning. We stopped at a great new winery,
Vina Robles, on the way in to enjoy their wine and cheese pairings. Then, we dropped our bags off at the
Apple Farm Inn in San Luis Obispo and headed to our BBQ class at
Central Coast Culinary and Catering. What followed was 3 hours of eating the most fabulous food! It wasn't so much of a cooking class as it was a tutoring session about Barbequeing. The owner sat and talked with us about Barbequeing and the sides that went along with it. We tasted lamb, tri tip, pork ribs, sausage, chicken, salmon, ahi tuna, grilled corn, blue cheese potato salad, baked beans, garlic bread, a green salad with fruit and pomegranate vinaigrette, two different relishes, and two desserts. I am probably leaving something out! The food was delicious, the wine was great, and the company was even better.

We went golfing on Monday at
Monarch Dunes in Nipomo. To be honest, Darla and I weren't thrilled to be spending our day golfing, but we had so much fun! We were only going to golf 9 holes, but we ended up going the entire 18. I got new clubs for Mother's Day, and I really like them. Here's a few pictures of us hitting the links:

Mike called us the Bobbsey Twins because our clubs are the same.

On the way home, we stopped at
Artisan in downtown Paso Robles for another awesome meal. We did a lot of eating this weekend, but it was so worth it. The food was fabulous!

Julie,
Your little get-a-way looks like too much fun!! Yes, Jerry and Lyn went to Calvin about the same time as us. (I think Lyn is a year younger.) We have enjoyed getting to know them through church. They are in our small group along with two other couples. It's fun to make connections, huh?!
