Last night Brooke and I went out for dinner with our friend Alison, and on the way there, I noticed some suspiciously dark clouds to the East. We don't usually get storms here in the summertime, but we got a good one last night! I have never seen so much lightning! It would have been pretty exciting had it not been so scary. We had a number of trees lose limbs, a fence came down on our garden :(, and we lost our commodity barn (double sad face!)! The tin from the top of the barn went into pen 1, which would have been a disaster if there were cows there. They were all in the barn being milked, so I guess it could have been much worse!
Life goes way too quickly and little moments are often lost. This is my way of recording the big and little moments in our life along with sharing how our family enjoys life on our farm.

Are we in Kansas, or what???
I could have posted any number of titles for this post. The Wind Storm of '09, Lightning and Wind strikes the Valley ....
